Naidu to Visit Markapuram Tomorrow, Inspects Veligonda Project

Chief Minister to participate in Sanjeevani programme in Giddalur constituency

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will tour Markapuram district tomorrow and participate in various programmes in Yerragondapalem and Giddalur constituencies. He will inspect Veligonda Project works and later participate in the Sanjeevani programme in Giddalur constituency.

The Veligonda Project is of immense importance to the districts of Markapuram, Prakasam, Nellore and Kadapa. Once completed, it will provide irrigation to 4.47 lakh acres and drinking water to 15.25 lakh people across 30 mandals in four districts. The project will also bring a permanent solution to the decades-old fluoride problem in the region.The project is being executed in two stages:Stage-I: Irrigation to 1.19 lakh acres and drinking water to 4 lakh people.Stage-II: Irrigation to 3.28 lakh acres and drinking water to 11.25 lakh people.The government has already spent more than Rs 5,000 crore on Stage-I. Excavation of Tunnel-I spanning nearly 19 km, along with the exit channel and Link Channel works, has been completed. The Feeder canal, Teegaleru and Gottipadi Main canal works are also completed. Construction of the two head regulators, tunnel lining, approach channel and eastern main canal is in the final stages.The government has so far spent Rs 190 crore towards Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R). Displaced families from 11 villages are being rehabilitated. Following the project inspection, the Chief Minister will interact with beneficiaries.
As part of the government's vision of achieving a Healthy Andhra Pradesh, the Sanjeevani Project has been introduced to ensure healthcare access and health security for all.Sanjeevani is a comprehensive digital healthcare platform that aims to provide quality, affordable and timely medical services. It seeks to integrate the entire healthcare ecosystem—from Primary Health Centres to District Hospitals and from Health Sub-Centres to Super-Speciality Services—on a single digital platform.
The primary objective of Sanjeevani is to create an AI-enabled doctor system supported by digital health records.The Chief Minister will participate in a meeting with Sanjeevani beneficiaries and medical staff at the Krishnamsettipalli Primary Health Centre.
As per schedule the Chief Minister will arrive at Ghantavanipalle, Dornala Mandal at 10.45 a.m. He will inspect Veligonda Project from 11 a.m to 12.20 p.m, conduct review meeting with officials and interaction with beneficiaries at 12:35 PM. The Chief Minister will reach Krishnamsettipalli in Giddalur constituency and attend a meeting with Sanjeevani beneficiaries and medical staff at the Krishnamsettipalli Primary Health Centre from 1.10 p.m. Later he will address a public meeting at 3:35 PM and a review meeting with TDP leaders and party workers at 6:15 PM.
