Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday conducted a first-ever high-level review meeting on works related to Godavari pushkaram to be conducted for 12 days from June 26 to July 7.
He reviewed the arrangements to be made for organizing pushkaram in half a dozen districts covering Polavaram, Eluru, East Godavari, West Godavari, Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema and Kakinada where River Godavari flows.
Vedic scholars blessed the Chief Minister before reviewing the arrangements. He said that it was his good fortune to organize the Godavari Pushkaram for the third time during his tenure as Chief Minister and added that plans have been chalked out to build 139 new ghats in addition to the existing 234 ghats.
A total of 373 ghats along the riverbank of 9918 meters in different areas have been planned. About 10 crore devotees from various places and abroad will visit during pushkaram to take holy dip in Godavari river.
The Chief Minister asked officials concerned to complete the Polavaram project before the Godavari Pushkarams.
