Naidu: Parents-teachers’ meetings every Dec 7
Vijayawada:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday declared that the Andhra Pradesh government has organised the world’s largest parents-teachers’ meeting at 45,094 government and aided schools across the state.
“35 lakh students, 71 lakh parents, 1,88,266 teachers and more than 50,000 public representatives are participating in the mega parents-teachers’ meeting across the state,” Naidu underlined, addressing one such meeting at the Bapatla Municipal High School. He asked parents to remain vigilant about their children's education.
The CM said with the cooperation between parents, teachers, students and government, AP can achieve remarkable goals. “In the future, we will conduct these much-required meetings every year on December 7," he announced.
Naidu raised the alarm over marijuana, saying some people are even cultivating it at home, treating it like vegetable gardening. “To effectively combat illegal drug trafficking in the state, we have established the EAGLE system, which will completely eliminate marijuana consumption. We will work to ensure that the term “drugs” is not heard in our state, as it destroys human relationships," he stated.
The Chief Minister underlined that we honour our elders saying Matṛudevobhava (Mother is God), Pitrudevobhava (Father is God), and Acharyadevobhava (Teacher is God). Apart from paying respect to these three, students should pay special attention to sports, which promotes mental and physical strength, he remarked.
Naidu said in the coming days, schools will inform parents about their children’s attendance, health cards and progress reports via mobile phones. “Do not neglect your children’s education while engaged in your own work. Parents must supervise their children to prevent them from becoming slaves to smartphones. They must also be vigilant against cybercrimes,” he pointed out.
Addressing infrastructural needs, the CM assured that all basic facilities will be established by the next academic year, including completion of classroom buildings at Bapatla Municipal High School. Digital libraries and labs will also be set up, with all works expected to be completed by June next year, he added.
