CM Naidu Sees Davos as Platform for Deepening India–Israel Economic Ties
Naidu, a repeated presence at the annual Davos meet, expressed optimism that the engagements would open up fresh avenues for clean-technology and high-end industrial investments in Andhra Pradesh.
Vijayawada:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said the World Economic Forum in Davos has emerged as a crucial platform for deepening India–Israel economic cooperation.
Naidu, a repeated presence at the annual Davos meet, expressed optimism that the engagements would open up fresh avenues for clean-technology and high-end industrial investments in Andhra Pradesh.
On the sidelines of the global summit, he held a meeting with Nir Barkat, Israel’s minister of economy. Later, Naidu said the discussions were wide-ranging and focused on strengthening strategic partnerships between India and Israel across multiple sunrise sectors.
The CM stated that the talks covered collaboration in defence and aerospace, with particular emphasis on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies, where Israel is considered a global leader.
The two sides also explored opportunities in semiconductors and quantum technologies, sectors that are gaining increasing importance in the global technology and security landscape.
Water management emerged as another key area of discussion, with the CM highlighting Israel’s globally recognised expertise in water purification and groundwater quality improvement. He said cooperation in these areas could significantly benefit AP, especially in addressing long-term water sustainability challenges.
The meeting also touched upon the scope for joint programmes in medical technology, education and cyber security.
Naidu said such partnerships would not only help in knowledge-sharing and skill development but also attract advanced research and innovation ecosystems to the state.
Reiterating his government’s long-term vision, the CM said AP was keen on positioning itself as a leading Med-Tech and Aero-Defence hub in the country. A proposal to establish an Israeli industrial park in the state figured prominently in the discussions.
The idea, he said, was to create a dedicated ecosystem that would encourage Israeli companies to set up manufacturing units locally, leveraging AP’s investor-friendly policies and growing industrial infrastructure.
Naidu expressed confidence that the engagements at Davos would translate into concrete investments and strategic collaborations, further strengthening economic ties between India and Israel while accelerating AP’s journey towards becoming a global destination for advanced technologies.
