VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh BJP is making arrangements to ‘recreate’ the conduct of the Jan Sangh national convention in Indira Gandhi municipal stadium in the city on Jan. 23 and 24.

AP BJP general secretary Nagothu Ramesh said here on Wednesday that Vijayawada played a significant role in giving a direction to the nation based on dharma and added that the then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the present Prime Minister Narendra Modi were governing the nation based on the ideology of ‘Ekatma Manav Darshan’ propounded by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya in 1965.

Vijayawada municipal stadium is the place where there was a demand for an atomic bomb for India in 1965, and also for the abolition of Article 370, and subsequently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi abolished it.

He said that they were inviting NDA leaders, including Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and BJP national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santosh and Union minister for coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy.
