Jagtial: Missing B.Tech Student Rahul Found Dead in Well Near Singarayakonda
Student who disappeared after boarding a train from Kacheguda allegedly died by suicide; police investigating the circumstances.
Ongole: The disappearance of B.Tech student Rahul ended in tragedy after his body was recovered from a well near Singarayakonda in Prakasam district.
The deceased, identified as Ankam Rahul, a native of Jagtial district, had been reported missing by his father, Ankam Rajeswar. Rahul, who was staying at Lakshmikala Boys Hostel in Saidabad, was last seen on May 27 at the Kachiguda Tourist Junction after getting down from a friend’s motorcycle, saying he was going out with friends.
Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched an extensive investigation, exploring multiple leads.
A breakthrough came on the night of June 7, when investigators received information about an unidentified body recovered from a well on May 30 within the limits of Singarayakonda Police Station in Prakasam district, where a separate case had been registered.
Upon verification, the belongings found on the body matched Rahul’s identity. However, officials said DNA confirmation is awaited to conclusively establish the identity.
The tragic development has been conveyed to the family, and further investigation is currently underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
