Woman Attempts Suicide At Guntur Collectorate

A woman complainant attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at the Guntur collectorate. Alleging that her father, uncle and other family members were harassing her and her mother, she lodged a complaint at the grievance cell. She complained that they had taken away 15 tola gold and Rs 5 lakh from them and pushed them out of the house.

The woman said that she and her mother had been facing mental agony since her father had gone for a second marriage. She lamented that despite repeated police complaints, no action was initiated and in a frustration, consumed pesticide.

Witnessing the woman's extreme step, the onlookers shifted her to a hospital.
