Minister Orders Probe Into Food Poisoning Incident

KAKINADA: Water resources minister Nimmala Ramanaidu on Thursday directed officials to conduct a detailed probe into the food poisoning incident reported at S. Kondepadu village in Ganapavaram mandal of West Godavari district.

Twelve workers reportedly fell ill after consuming bajjis on Wednesday and were admitted to private hospitals in Bhimavaram.

The minister spoke to district collector C. Nagarani and SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi and instructed officials to investigate the incident in coordination with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India officials.

He also directed authorities to ensure proper medical treatment for the victims.
