Visakhapatnam: The YSRC president Jagan Mohan Reddy went to Srikakulam on Thursday to meet former minister Seediri Appala Raju, under judicial remand at Ampolu jail, but failed to meet him as he reached there three hours late instead of the appointed 2pm.

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Thursday termed Jagan Reddy's visit to Srikakulam a "political drama," aimed at “supporting an accused” rather than consoling the victims. She claimed the YSRC chief deliberately prolonged his road journey from Visakhapatnam to Srikakulam to divert public attention from the Bhogapuram international airport inauguration.
Anitha also condemned the alleged misbehaviour of YSRC leaders towards a woman sub-inspector during the visit, warning that strict legal action would be taken.
