Take Welfare Schemes Door-to-Door, Lokesh Tells Cadre

Kurnool:Education Minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday called upon Telugu Desam functionaried to take the message of the government’s welfare schemes and development projects to every household, as a grassroots outreach was key to electoral success.

Addressing a meeting of party leaders and cadre in Adoni, Lokesh said it was the responsibility of party functionaries to also ensure that the details of the benefits and achievements of the alliance government reached the people at their doorstep.

“Work like soldiers and remain prepared for the upcoming local body elections,” he exhorted them.

Emphasising unity, Lokesh advised TD cadre in Adoni to coordinate with the MLA, cautioning that internal differences would harm the party. “Any issue should be brought to the notice of the leadership for resolution instead of creating conflicts,” he said.

The minister alleged that the opposition continued to indulge in a smear campaign despite the government implementing several welfare and development programmes. He directed MLAs and party leaders to effectively counter such criticism.

“If we fail to respond, it will create a perception that we are at fault,” he observed.

Lokesh stressed the need to explain welfare schemes and development initiatives to the public so that the people are aware of the good work being carried out by the government. He also asked party workers to remain alert on social media and strongly rebut criticism against the party and the government.

After the meeting, Lokesh left for Hosur in Pattikonda constituency to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of a renewable energy plant to be set up by the Tata Group.
