Heavy Rain Likely in Coastal AP; Low Pressure in Bay

Visakhapatnam: Under the influence of various weather systems, heavy rain is likely at isolated places in north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on Saturday.

It said, “The low-pressure area over the South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts and adjoining areas of northwest-West Central Bay of Bengal lay over south Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast on Friday.”
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extended upto 7.6km above mean sea level, tilting south-westwards with height, it said.
IMD said, “The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Kota, Seoni, Raipur and thence centre of low-pressure area over south Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh.”
The east-west trough from central parts of Bay of Bengal to northeast Arabian sea adjoining Kutch across the upper air cyclonic circulation associated with the low-pressure area over northwest and adjoining areas of West Central Bay of Bengal and south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts, across Telangana, north Maharashtra and south Gujarat region between 1.5 and 3.1km above mean sea level, tilting southward with height persists,” it added.
