Govt Reviews Arrangements for PM’s Visit to Bhogapuram for Airport Launch

The ministers reviewed aspects of public mobilisation, traffic regulation, parking facilities, transportation, food distribution and event management.

Vijayawada:The state government on Tuesday held a review meeting to finalise arrangements for inauguration of the Bhogapuram International Airport, on August 1, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited for the event.

The review, held at the state secretariat was attended by ministers, senior officials and district administrations of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Parvathipuram Manyam districts. All departments would work in close coordination.

The ministers reviewed aspects of public mobilisation, traffic regulation, parking facilities, transportation, food distribution and event management.

The meeting also discussed cultural programmes for the event, including performances of the traditional Dhimsa dance by Araku tribal artistes, showcasing the cultural heritage of north Andhra.

As the inauguration is scheduled for August 1, officials were instructed to complete pension distribution well before the event to avoid inconvenience to beneficiaries. They were also asked to take into account the annual Simhachalam Giri Pradakshina, scheduled for July 28, while planning logistics and traffic arrangements.

The review was attended by ministers Atchannaidu, Narayana, Payyavula Keshav, Janardhan Reddy, Satya Prasad, Veeranjaneya Swamy, Mandipalli Ramprasad, Vangalapudi Anita, Satya Yadav, Sandhya Rani, Kollu Ravindra and Gottipati Ravi. Special chief Secretary Krishna Babu, Telugu Desam state president Palla Srinivasa Rao, BJP state president Madhav, MLCs Beeda Ravichandra Yadav, Satyanarayana Raju and Hari Prasad, Maritime Board chairman Damacharla Satya, health secretary G. Veerapandian, and other senior officials were present.
