Free Anti-Rabies Vaccinations Today In Vijayawada
VMC commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra stated on Saturday that vaccination programmes will be held at Nehrubomma Centre, Kothapet, near KBN College, from 7 am to 12 noon, and at Jeevakarunyam Ashram, Iron Complex, Bhawanipuram Iron Yard, from 9 am to 12 noon.
VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, animal husbandry department, NTR district, Jeevakarunya Sanstha, Bhawanipuram, Sai Baba Satsanga Seva Samiti, and Navodaya Vet Society will jointly organise free anti-rabies vaccinations for stray and domestic dogs on the occasion of World Zoonosis Day on Sunday (July 6). The commissioner said that diseases that spread from animals to humans are called zoonoses, and examples of them are rabies, avian flu, Nipah, brucellosis, and leptospirosis, and suggested that precautions should be taken to prevent the spread of deadly diseases like rabies, anthrax, and brucellosis among the people.
