Family Threatens Suicide Over Land Dispute, Tension in Kadiri

Tense situation prevailed in Kadiri constituency of Sri Sathya Sai district after a family from Kamatampalli village released a selfie video threatening to die by suicide over an alleged land dispute.

The family of K. Bhagyaraj alleged that a pathway leading to their house had been blocked by fencing as part of the dispute. In the video, family members claimed they would be left with no option but to die by suicide if they were not given justice.

Another video, purportedly showing Bhagyaraj standing on a railway track, surfaced on social media, triggering concern among villagers. The videos subsequently went viral.

In the video, the family blamed local MLA Kandikunta Prasad and some police officials for their situation. They appealed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, minister N. Lokesh and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan to intervene and ensure justice.

Villagers alleged there had been a delay in the official response and claimed police had not reached the spot despite the videos circulating widely. They urged the authorities to intervene immediately and resolve the dispute.

Officials had not issued a formal statement on the incident till the time of going to press.
