Electricity Wing Urges Households To Adopt Rooftop Solar
Electricity officials urged households in Nellore to install rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar scheme to reduce power bills and promote clean energy.
Electricity authorities urged households to make use of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and install rooftop solar plants to reduce power bills and promote renewable energy.
At an awareness programme held at Dycus Road in Nellore Town Division under the Seva Setu Abhiyan, officials explained the subsidy available to eligible domestic consumers, the application and installation process and the net-metering facility.
Consumers raised queries and sought clarifications on the scheme and its benefits. Officials said wider adoption of rooftop solar could help households reduce electricity costs, conserve energy and contribute to environmental protection.
Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) director (Technical & HRD) K. Guravaiah urged eligible consumers to utilise the scheme and participate in the promotion of solar power.
Superintending engineer P. Sudhakar and other officials participated in the programme.
