Eagle IGP Felicitates Centenarians In Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: Respecting elders and seeking their blessings is an integral part of Indian culture, EAGLE IGP Aake Ravikrishna said at a felicitation programme for centenarians organised by the Senior Citizens Charitable Trust in Vijayawada Central constituency.
Ravikrishna appreciated the trust for felicitating people who have completed their 100 years over the past two decades. Those the trust had felicitated include noted violinist and Padma Shri awardee Annavarapu Ramaswamy, who served All India Radio for nearly 30 years, and Adusumilli Venugopala Rao.
Recalling the century-long transformation of India, the IGP highlighted Vijayawada’s historical association with Mahatma Gandhi and national flag designer Pingali Venkayya.
Ravikrishna asked senior citizens to approach police without fear to resolve their problems. He cautioned them against cyber fraud, advising them to report incidents immediately through 1930.
The IGP appealed to children living elsewhere in India or abroad, to regularly contact their parents, enquire about their health, and visit them whenever possible.
He congratulated Senior Citizens Charitable Trust chairman Dr. Challa Harikumar, vice-chairman Prasad, and the organisers of the felicitation programme.
Those who attended the function included Bonda Lalitha, Arjun Rao, Vatluri Gangadhar, M. Ravindra, Rudra Ramesh, EAGLE personnel, trust members and families of the centenarians.
