Dairy Industry Neglected During Jagan Rule, Reveal Statistics In LS Question Hour

The central government informed that the dairy industry dropped to abysmal level during the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's rule.

During the Question Hour in Lok Sabha, the central fisheries, animal husbandry ministry disclosed details of the drop in milk production, reduction in the average availability of milk per person.

During the previous government's rule, dairy production slipped from 15.45 million tonne to 13.95 million tonne, which is a reduction of nearly 10% in the same year. At the same time, the average availability of milk per head also dropped from 799 gm to 716 gm, reflecting the crisis faced by the industry during Jagan rule.

After the NDA coalition government coming to power, the dairy industry received a boost, specially after the sanction of Rs 115.65 crore to Andhra Pardesh under the National Programme for Dairy Development. In the past, only Rs 6 crore was sanctioned but now, the amount has been increased to 19 times.

In addition, the allocation of funds under the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Funds has also increased. Over Rs 6.57 crore was released under the scheme. Also,

Rs 75.96 crore was released for prevention of diseases among animals and free vaccinations.

The central government made it clear that several measures are being initiated to improve milk production and farmers' income exponentially.
