CM Naidu Inaugurates Tourism Projects, Pitches Planned Growth for Kuppam

During his visit to Kuppam Rural mandal, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Kangundi Heritage Village and a Bouldering Park.

Tirupati:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said Kuppam could be developed into a major tourism hub through systematic planning and a strong focus on visitor convenience and quality infrastructure.

During his visit to Kuppam Rural mandal, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Kangundi Heritage Village and a Bouldering Park. The projects, developed by the district tourism council at a cost of ₹35 lakh, include 32 homestays and nine tent accommodations set up by the tourism department. Naidu inspected the facilities and reviewed maintenance and service arrangements.

Highlighting Kuppam’s strategic location near the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka borders and its proximity to Bengaluru, the Chief Minister said the region had strong potential to attract tourists from neighbouring States. He directed officials to plan tourism infrastructure and activities by leveraging this advantage, while ensuring safety and high service standards for visitors.

The Kangundi Heritage Village showcases local culture through traditional art forms and wall paintings, while the Bouldering Park has been developed to promote adventure tourism with rock-climbing facilities. Naidu also launched the ‘Discover Kuppam’ website to promote tourist destinations in and around the constituency and provide information to visitors.

Later, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for tourism development works worth `4 crore to be taken up with funds from APSBCCL’s corporate social responsibility initiative. He also inaugurated Punnami Resorts, which features 18 luxury rooms, an amphitheatre, a meeting hall and restaurants.

Naidu further inaugurated a co-working space, Navadisha Kendra, in Kuppam town, set up in partnership with Hindalco, the Aditya Birla Group and the Kuppam Area Development Authority. He also launched an Aditya Birla Multi Skill Development Centre to provide industry-oriented training in artificial intelligence, cyber security, robotics, mechatronics and IT. The centre aims to train 1,000 youth over the next three years and facilitate employment for about 700 candidates.
