KAKINADA: Police have on Tuesday found a decomposed male body in Tallakodu, a hamlet of Kuppanapudi village in Akividu mandal of West Godavari district, with its head and torso separated.

The body has been identified as that of Nammi Rambabu (22), working as a painter. He had lost his father. His mother is working in Dubai.

Rambabu had been residing with his grandmother Simhachalam. Recently Rambabu constructed a house at Jagananna Colony in Tallakodu village. Simhachalam had complained to the police that Rambabu has been missing since January 14.

On Tuesday, some locals in Jagananna Colony informed Simhachalam that lights have remained switched on in the new house. When Simhachalam came to the house, she found Rambabu’s body with head and torso separated.

Akividu circle inspector V. Jagadeeswara Rao told Deccan Chronicle that Rambabu is a property offender. He had stolen a mobile phone and mortgaged it.

The CI suspected that Rambabu may have committed suicide, hanging himself with saree tied to a fan some days ago. Due to decomposition of the body, the head may have separated from the body.

Akividu police have registered a case.
