Bhogapuram Airport Services Brought Under ESMA

Visakhapatnam:The Andhra Pradesh government has declared the airport operations and ground handling services at Bhogapuram International Airport as an Essential Service with immediate effect.
The order has been issued under Section 2 of the AP essential services maintenance act, 1971.
The government said this decision followed a request from the GMR Visakhapatnam International Limited (GVIAL)which emphasized the critical role airports play in public safety, connectivity, emergency response, and economic activity.
According to GVIAL, the Bhogapuram airport is a strategically important infrastructure project for AP. Airport operations involve a wide range of passenger services and aircraft support functions, with airport operations and ground handling forming essential and inseparable components of overall airport functioning.
With the notification now in effect, airport-related operations at Bhogapuram receive legal protection aimed at maintaining uninterrupted service delivery.
