ANANTAPUR: Heavy rains with gusty winds and lightning created havoc in many parts of Anantapur and Satya Sai districts on Tuesday evening. Lightning struck the west Gopuram of the historic Kadiri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Kadiri of Satya Sai district, damaging it.
Many trees got uprooted in Anantapur city. Several of them fell on power lines disrupting the power supply. AP Transco teams rushed to the spot and took more than an hour to restore power supply.
Trees and electric poles got uprooted in Aravinda Nagar and Housing Board. A tree uprooted near the TB Ward of the Government General Hospital, causing panic.
