Boro had shared a video lasting a few seconds with her friends, saying the train coach was overcrowded and most passengers were men.

Visakhapatnam:Assam police inspector general G.V. Siva Prasad on Saturday visited the railway track in Srikakulam district where Himashri Boro’s body was found and reviewed the investigation with district police officials.

Siva Prasad said his visit followed a communication from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He met local and senior police officers to assess the situation and review the facts.

He said the investigation was progressing in the right direction, with investigators examining concerns raised in Assam and on social media. He said there was no evidence of a conspiracy so far and that a clearer picture was expected to emerge in the next two to three days.

Boro had shared a video lasting a few seconds with her friends, saying the train coach was overcrowded and most passengers were men. There was nothing suspicious in the video, Siva Prasad said.

Srikakulam superintendent of police K.V. Maheswara Reddy said the preliminary post-mortem report had ruled out physical and sexual assault. Police were investigating whether the death was accidental or intentional.

Boro was found dead near the railway track within the limits of Palasa railway police station on the morning of October 7. She was returning to Assam on the Vivek Express after participating in dance performances in Visakhapatnam. Her family members and friends have alleged that she was murdered and demanded a thorough investigation.
