APJAC to Seek CM’s Intervention on Employees’ Demands
A statewide meeting will be held in Vijayawada in the last week of August
VIJAYAWADA: The APJAC leadership is likely to meet Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the third week of August to seek resolution of long-pending issues concerning employees, teachers, contract and outsourcing staff and pensioners.
APJAC chairman and APNGOs state president A. Vidyasagar said the JAC would seek decisions on PRC, interim relief (IR) and dearness allowance (DA), in line with assurances in the election manifesto. He said rising prices had increased the financial difficulties of employees and urged the government to address their concerns.
Other demands include release of surrender leave and pending arrears, resolution of health-card issues, enhancement of the retirement age for contract and outsourcing employees, additional quantum of pension for pensioners and extension of welfare schemes to outsourcing staff.
The JAC will also seek automatic advancement for village and ward secretariat employees, exemption of in-service teachers from TET, inclusion of Alluri Sitarama Raju district in Zone-I and scrapping of CPS in favour of the old pension scheme.
Vidyasagar said APJAC was ready to launch an action programme, if necessary, to protect employees’ interests. A statewide meeting will be held in Vijayawada in the last week of August.
