AP Commercial Tax Collections Rise 19% to Rs. 4,987 Crore in May
The net GST collections for May amounted to Rs.3,037 crore. The state also received Rs.1,758.58 crore through IGST settlement during the month. Petroleum VAT collections stood at Rs.1,768.82 crore, while professional tax collections amounted to Rs.48.92 crore.
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh recorded a 19 per cent increase in commercial tax collections in May 2026, with revenue touching Rs.4,987 crore, an increase of Rs.737 crore over the corresponding period last year.
In a statement issued on Monday, chief commissioner of state tax A. Babu said GST revenue collections stood at Rs.3,037 crore in May 2026, compared with Rs.2,629 crore in May 2025, registering a growth of 16 per cent.

According to the commercial taxes department, Andhra Pradesh’s 16 per cent GST growth exceeded the national average growth rate of 6 per cent, excluding imports.
Among southern states, Andhra Pradesh ranked second in GST growth, behind Karnataka at 17 per cent. The state outperformed Kerala, which recorded 15 per cent growth, Telangana at 14 per cent and Tamil Nadu at 12 per cent, the statement said.
