Andhra Pradesh: Mother Of Five Students Receives ₹65,000 Under Thalliki Vandanam Scheme
S.K. Sarpunnisa, a resident of Buchireddypalem, has five children studying at the local Urdu School: Reports
NELLORE: The Andhra Pradesh government’s Thalliki Vandanam scheme has benefited a family in Buchireddypalem of Kovur Assembly constituency, with a mother of five school-going children receiving ͅ₹65,000 as educational assistance.
S.K. Sarpunnisa, a resident of Buchireddypalem, has five children studying at the local Urdu School. Under the scheme, ₹13,000 was credited to her bank account for each child, taking the total assistance to ₹65,000.
The case was highlighted by the organisers as an example of the scheme’s provision of financial assistance to every eligible child in a family. They said the previous YSRC government’s Amma Vodi scheme provided assistance of ₹13,000 to only one child per family, irrespective of the number of children studying.
Sarpunnisa, accompanied by her children, visited the VPR office in Nellore and, through Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy, conveyed her gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and education minister Nara Lokesh for extending the benefit to all her children under the scheme.
Telugu Desam Nellore Parliamentary general secretary Chejerla Venkateswara Reddy and local party leaders were present.
