VIJAYAWADA: AP EPDCL chairman and managing director I. Prithvi Tej has assured representatives of power employees' unions that the committee examining the implementation of Government Order (GO) No. 45 would consider their representations and suggestions before taking a decision.
The assurance came during a meeting with a joint delegation of the AP Power Employees’ Forum and the Telugu Nadu Vidyut Karmika Sangham (TNVKS), which urged the CMD to implement GO No. 45 in power utilities without any changes.
The delegation included AP Power Employees’ Forum president Gutta Villi Ramakrishna, general secretary S. Koteswara Rao, vice-presidents S. Srinivasa Rao and Rajashekhar, TNVKS state president P. Sambasiva Rao and other union leaders.
Later, addressing a press conference in Vijayawada, the union representatives said they had explained to the CMD what they described as misconceptions and a misleading campaign surrounding GO No. 45. They urged the management to implement the order in power utilities in the same manner as in other state public sector organisations.
Prithvi Tej said the committee was examining all aspects of the issue and would consider the memoranda and representations submitted by the unions before arriving at a decision.
The unions appealed for implementation of GO No. 45 in line with the Chief Minister's vision, the Cabinet decision and the provisions of the order, stating that it would benefit thousands of employees and their families. They also thanked the CMD for hearing their concerns.
