Andhra Pradesh: Govt Strengthening Schools With Teachers, Better Infrastructure: Anitha

Participating in the Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting at the government high school in Payakaraopeta, the minister interacted with parents, teachers and students. She also had lunch with the students.

Addressing the gathering, Anitha said education minister Nara Lokesh had introduced several reforms to strengthen the education system. The government's priority was to ensure that government schools were equipped with all essential facilities so that poverty did not become a barrier to education.

The minister announced that a bus stand would be constructed at the school and assured that two bus services would be operated between Adda Road and Narsipatnam for the benefit of students and the public.

She said the government had decided not to permit private functions on school and college campuses, adding that educational institutions should be treated with the same respect as places of worship.

Urging parents to closely monitor their children's behaviour, Anitha expressed concern over youngsters falling prey to addictions at an early age. She advised students to stay away from drugs and other harmful habits, stating that the government had adopted a stringent approach to curb ganja and other narcotics.

The minister also cautioned the public against cybercrime and urged students to take responsibility for their studies and future. Parents should encourage children to become self-reliant and capable of facing challenges independently.

During her visit to the Payakaraopeta Assembly constituency, Anitha inaugurated the new Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya building and the new Treasury Office building at Kotauratla.

Highlighting development in the constituency, she said several industries were coming up in the region and this would generate thousands of employment opportunities. She also advised auto-rickshaw drivers to strictly follow traffic regulations in the interest of public safety.
