Kurnool:A four-year-old girl died after accidentally falling into a vessel containing piping hot sambar at Kothapeta village in Devanakonda mandal of Kurnool district.

According to sources, the family had recently arranged a borewell in their agricultural field and had prepared food at home for labourers working at the site. While the food was being readied for transport to the field on August 4, Meena, who was playing nearby, accidentally fell into a vessel of hot sambar.

She sustained severe burn injuries and was rushed to the Government General Hospital in Kurnool, where she underwent treatment.

Despite efforts by doctors, the child succumbed to injuries on Thursday morning. An inconsolable girl's father lamented that a moment of negligence had cost them their daughter.
