2-Year-Old Girl Chokes to Death While Being Fed by Father in Eluru

Hyderabad: In a heartbreaking incident, a two-year-old girl lost her life after choking on food while being fed by her father in Markandeyapuram colony on the outskirts of Jangareddygudem on Friday.
The victim has been identified as Jessie Deevena, daughter of Abhaya Anjaneya Kumar and Bhanu Shirisha.
According to the police, the couple had been married for four years. Their daughter, Jessie, had been undergoing medical treatment for delayed growth and development issues. On Friday, the child’s mother and grandmother had gone out on an errand, leaving the toddler in the care of her father.
The incident occurred while Anjaneya Kumar was feeding the child rice mixed with dal. A morsel of food reportedly got lodged in the child's throat, causing her to struggle for breath.
Panic-stricken, the father called a neighbour, Durga, for assistance. Despite their attempts to perform first aid, the child lost consciousness. She was immediately rushed to the Jangareddygudem Area Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Upon receiving the information, Jangareddygudem CI Subhash and Traffic SI Kutumba Rao visited the scene to gather details. Based on a complaint lodged by VRO Shaik Bobby, the police have registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating.
