Vijay Antony is gearing up for his next, Indrasena in which he is playing dual roles, Indrasena and Rudrasena. “These days it’s not difficult to portray dual roles, thanks to technology,” says Vijay.

The film releases simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil on Thursday. Notably, the Tamil version is called Annadurai but is in no way related to the yesteryear political leader of the same name. “The film isn’t related to Tamil Nadu politics. It’s based on a true incident that our film’s director Srinivasan saw,” he shares, adding that the director also has a twin in real life.

Interestingly, instead of a promo, Vijay released ten minutes of the film. He says, “I feel teasers completely misguide the audience, so I decided to show them a part of my film. It gives them an idea of what to expect.”

Vijay began his career as a music director and later became a singer. Now, he wears the hat of an actor and producer too. So is he interested in direction as well? “No. Many directors are approaching me with good scripts. I will concentrate on production and music. I don’t want to direct now,” he replies.

About the categorisation of films into art and commercial, he opines: “I can’t divide films like that. For me, any film does well at the box office, is a commercial film. My style of cinema is different and I always look at my films as the audience would.”

On a parting note he tells us: “I don’t know acting, but I choose good stories and portray emotions according to the story. But I will learn dancing and try it in the coming years. I don’t want to get special training; I want to learn on my own,” he says.
