A recent incident involving actress Nidhi Agarwal has raised serious concerns over poor crowd management and inadequate security at celebrity promotional events. According to a producer, the actress was deeply disturbed and had a sleepless night following an unpleasant experience on Thursday while attending a promotional event for The Raja Saab at a mall in Kukatpally.

“She is quite shocked. Being caught amid unruly crowds without proper security was disturbing. The organizers are clearly to be blamed,” the producer says.

That concern appears valid, as a celebrity manager who recently organized two events with Nidhi Agarwal in Parvathipuram and Narsipatnam in Andhra Pradesh stresses that careful planning is essential to avoid such situations. Celebrity manager Giridhar says meticulous preparation is the key to handling large crowds.

“I stay in touch with the showroom management at least 15 days prior to the event. We discuss the expected crowd size and nature, and accordingly decide the number of bouncers required. They have to form a proper human chain,” Giridhar explains.

He points out that smaller towns often attract larger crowds, as fans from even remote areas turn up in big numbers. “Sometimes the turnout can cross one lakh, especially when the showroom promotes the event aggressively in local media. For open events, we should have at least 30 to 40 bouncers. The actress must be escorted safely from the car to the showroom and back through a human chain amid cheering crowds,” he adds.

Giridhar recalls successfully managing a major showroom event with actress Sreeleela in Rajam, Srikakulam district. “Popular actresses need strong security, and it is the responsibility of the organizers. They should never cut down on bouncers,” he says.

He also recounts facing a similar disturbing situation while organizing an event with actress Samantha in Tirupati a few years ago. “One fan managed to get too close and even pulled Samantha. The actress was irritated and slapped the fan. The video went viral. She was brave and handled it well,” he notes.

Actresses reportedly charge anywhere between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh for such promotional appearances. Besides remuneration, these events offer wide publicity and a valuable opportunity to connect with fans in remote areas.

“Rural fans form a big chunk of the audience. Such events help actresses strike a chord with them by interacting, delivering a few dialogues or grooving to a chartbuster before returning to Hyderabad,” Giridhar concludes.
