Hyderabad: The suspended Telugu Desam MLAs staged a sit-in at the entrance of the lobbies raising slogans against the TRS government for not giving representation to SCs, STs and women in the Cabinet.

Mr Errabelli Dayakar Rao claimed that they were suspended because they had raised the issue of non-inclusion of members from SCs, STs and women categories in the Cabinet.

“Though we were ready to tender apologies, the government took up the motion of suspension in a hurry without giving us the chance. Under the guise of disrespect to the National Anthem, the TRS government played politics to suppress the Opposition. Even TRS members had stormed to the podium during the Governor’s address and attacked TD and Congress MLAs, but no action has been initiated against them. Even the video footage shown to floor leaders was incomplete and edited to suit the needs of the TRS government,” said Mr Dayakar Rao.

Mr Revanth Reddy said, “Since we are suspended for the entire session, we will come to the Assembly and stage demonstrations outside the House every day on various issues concerning the public. We will expose the government on its failures in fulfilling various poll promises made to the public every day.”
