Janhvi Kapoor Condemns Lynching Of Hindu Man In Bangladesh
Janhvi Kapoor asks for greater awareness and accountability through social media post
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has expressed deep anguish over reports of mob violence against members of the Hindu community in Bangladesh. The issue has drawn widespread attention following the brutal lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, an Indian-origin Hindu man, allegedly by an extremist group.
The incident has triggered strong reactions across social media, with many users demanding strict action against those responsible and urging authorities to ensure the safety of minority communities.
Reacting to the incident, Janhvi Kapoor shared an emotional note on social media, condemning the violence and calling for greater awareness and accountability. “What is happening in Bangladesh is barbaric. It is slaughter, and it is not an isolated incident. If you don’t know about this inhumane public lynching, read about it, see the videos, and ask the questions. And if, despite all of this, you feel no rage, then it is exactly this kind of hypocrisy that will destroy us before we know it,” she wrote.
She further added, “We continue to cry about things halfway across the globe while our own brothers and sisters are burnt to death. Communal discrimination and extremism in any and every form—whether we are the victims or the perpetrators—needs to be called out and condemned before we forget our humanity.”
Janhvi concluded her note by urging people to rise above divisions and stand up for innocent lives lost to communal hatred. “We are pawns who believe we reside on either side of an invisible line. Recognise this. Equip yourself with knowledge so you can take a stand for the innocent lives that are continuously lost and terrorised in this communal crossfire.”
On the work front, Janhvi is working with Ram Charan in "Peddi' and pins big hopes on the rural sports drama. She made her debut in Tollywood opposite Jr NTR in 'Devara,' and its sequel looks doubtful..
