Sheena's passport was with Rahul when she was said to be in US: police
Mumbai: Peter Mukerjea’s Rahul Mukerjea, who was engaged to Sheena Bora, in his statement to the Khar police confirmed that he had Sheena’s passport with him. However, he did not approach the police even when Sheena’s mother Indrani told everyone that Sheena was in the US.
He also stated that when he confronted Indrani about the same, she told him that Sheena had another passport.
Rahul mentioned that after his complaint had been ignored he had "lost faith" in the force and did not re-try going to the police or pursuing the case. Replying to a question over the efforts to find Sheena, he said that he had explored many possibilities to find her after she went missing but couldn’t get a clue. “All my efforts proved fruitless,” he said.

A senior police official supported Rahul’s claims. He said, “Who said he (Rahul) did not struggle or try to find her? He (Rahul) struggled a lot to find out about Sheena’s whereabouts. We have corroborated his claims.”
It had been earlier reported that Rahul had approached the Khar and Worli police asking them to probe Sheena’s disappearance. Another official said they were also verifying if Rahul had approached the police or not.
When asked if the Raigad police had found shreds of clothing with the body, allegedly of Sheena, in 2012, police sources said it could have been found but they needed to verify it.
Rahul also confirmed that he had dropped Sheena off at Bandra and had seen her for the last time with Indrani. He also stressed that he had tried to find Sheena in every possible way but could not get any clue.
“I dropped her to the car and had seen her last time with Indrani,” Rahul said.
