Galaxy Note 9 leaks sooner than expected, official support pages surface
Samsung’s flagship offering for 2018 — the Galaxy S9, isn’t doing as great as its predecessor when it comes to sales figures. Despite being an extremely capable smartphone, the S9 has been framed as a pretty uninspiring flagship offering, particularly for recycling the S8’s design and bringing no exciting feature to the table. Therefore, it seems that Samsung might be hurrying with its second flagship offering from the Note series this year. Why do we say that? Because the Galaxy Note 9 has already started peeping up here and there on the Internet.
Androidu.ro’s report mentions the surfacing of the official support page for a device named SM-N960U. If you go through Samsung’s nomenclature for its handsets, the SM-N960U is possibly the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 handset, considering the existing Galaxy Note 8 is named SM-N950F/U. The support page for the Note 9 has surfaced on Samsung’s websites in Africa, North Africa and Morocco. The page, however, doesn’t reveal any additional detail apart from the name.
However, the name itself gives a considerable amount of clue as to expect the internals of the Note 9. Considering the ‘U’ in the SM-N960U, it’s expected that the Note 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset for selected markets, carrying at least 6GB of RAM and the S9+'s rera dual camera system. Earlier leaks of a mysterious Samsung device appearing on benchmarking websites reveal the possibility of the Note 9 being a slightly bigger iteration of the Galaxy S9+ with the addition of the S Pen.
