Honor 8C to launch in India on November 29

The company has officially announced the launch of its latest smartphone and it will be an Amazon exclusive.

In 2018, Huawei-owned Honor has been on a roll and has been launching products that have received favourable reviews. It appears that Honor’s strategy to launch great handsets at attractive prices on a regular basis is to get as much penetration in the market as possible. And, this seems to be working in their favour. Now, Honor is all set to launch a follow-up to the Honor 7C in the form of the 8C and have announced that it will be an Amazon exclusive.

As of now, there is absolutely no pricing available but the handset has been made available in China with the 4GB + 32GB version retailing for CNY 1,099 (about Rs 12,000) while the higher-end variant which packs 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs 15,000). Based on the prices available for China, we can expect Honor to price it similarly in India.

The Honor 8C will come with a 6.26-inch IPS HD+ display and sport a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels while featuring an aspect ratio of 19:9. This handset will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC and as mentioned earlier, it will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. This storage is expandable a further 256GB more by way of a microSD card slot.

As far as optics go, the handset comes with a 13MP rear sensor featuring a f/1.8 aperture alongside a 2MP sensor with an aperture value of f/2.4. The front-facing selfie camera is rated at 8MP and comes with a soft LED flash paired with AI capabilities. Additionally, Honor has also thrown in AR enhancements such as filters in its camera app. The software found here is Android 8.1 Oreo with the EMUI 8.2 skin and the handset is kept alive by a 4000mAh battery.
