iPhone 8 rumour round-up: Everything we know so far

The iPhone 8 which had been expected to release in September, like any other iPhone launches, may get delayed to October or November

Since this year marks as the 10th anniversary of Apple iPhones, Apple fans have high hopes from the next flagship iPhone.

iPhone 8 or iPhone X, it has never been about the name, but what matters most are the specifications, the design and last but not the least pricing of the next iPhone.

This years Apple flagship iPhone is expected to be different. As the information about the next iPhone is appearing online in reports, we have gathered some specs that Apple has in stores to offer on the next iPhone.

Display:

Apple will reported release three iPhones this year, including iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. According to a report by Nikkei Asian Review, "the upcoming iPhone, to be launched this fall, will come in three configurations- a 4.7-inch iPhone 7s and a 5.5-inch iPhone 7s Plus with liquid crystal displays and one with a 5.8-inch organic light-emitting diode display."

True Tone Technology:

The iPhone 8 is said to feature True Tone technology that will allow their displays to automatically adjust colour temperature based on the room environment.

Home button on the back:

A schematic leaked online by slashleaks, revealed the Apple could be trying to shift the home button on the back that will give more room to designers to play with its display.

Next-generation Touch ID with face or iris scanning:

The premium iPhone 8 is also said to include 3D-sensors to allow facial recognition as a part of new biometric feature.

3GB RAM:

According to TENNA listing, Apple is in works to upgrade the iPhone’s RAM from 2GB to the 3GB RAM.

Dual-lens camera:

The iPhone 8 may come housed with a dual-camera setup, but vertically-oriented, unlike the iPhone 7 Plus.

Wireless charging:

A recent report by Nikkei Asian Review also revealed that Foxconn, one of Apple's main manufacturing partners, is making wireless charging modules.

Enhanced water resistance:

A S. Korea-based English daily, Korean Herald reported that the next iPhone will have a higher water resistance rating—IP68 compared to the present IP67.

Pricing:

The high-end iPhone 8 with an OLED display is expected to cost over $1,000, but a base 64GB model could start at $850 to $900 in the US.
