LG G6 'mini variant' to be called Q6: report

According to the press released shared in the post, the model is slated to launch on July 11.

LG Electronics has long been rumoured to launch a mini variant of its flagship smartphone LG G6. But this is the first time that a name for the model has appeared in leaks online. According to a tweeter post by Grzegorz DÄ…bek, from Poland, LG has started sending out invites for the launch of the version, and is calling it out “LG Q6”.

The invitation he shared in the post also reads out that the launch event is scheduled to take place on July 11.

An earlier report by Techbufflao had claimed that LG is planning to launch a smaller version of the G6 smartphone featuring 5.4-inch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 80 per cent. The original LG G6 variant sport 5.7-inch Quad HD + full vision display.

Similar to the original LG G6 model, the smaller version will retain 18:9 aspect ratio, the report said.

To recall, LG G6 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM, offering 32GB/64GB storage option, with additional expandable storage of up to 2TB. Powered by a non-removable 3300mAh battery, it sports a dual-camera setup with one 13MP sensor for wide angle and one 13MP sensor for regular shots, and a 5MP front camera. The smartphone comes in three colour variants--White, Black and Platinum, and is priced at Rs 51, 990. The mini variant is speculated to cost lower than the LG G6 smartphone price.
