Shikhar Dhawan creates history, becomes first Indian to score century in 100th ODI
Johannesburg: With India eyeing their first series win against South Africa, Shikhar Dhawan created history at the Wanderers Stadium in the fourth ODI on Saturday after becoming the first Indian player to notch a ton in his 100th ODI.
The southpaw hit an unbeaten century before the threat of lightning stopped play at Johannesburg.
Dhawan, who made his ODI debut in 2010 against Australia, smashed his 13th ODI century in 99 deliveries to become the ninth batsman overall to strike a ton in their 100th ODI.

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly came close to achieving the feat during the 1999 World Cup but fell short by three runs against the Proteas. The last batsman to achieve the feat was Dhawan’s SunRisers Hyderabad teammate David Warner, who brought it up against the Men in Blue during September 2017.
The left-handed Dhawan, playing in his 100th one-day international, shared a second wicket partnership of 158 with Indian captain Virat Kohli, who was dismissed for only the second time in the series after scoring 75. Kohli has made 393 runs in four innings in helping India take an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the six-match series.
It was the third successive big partnership between Dhawan and Kohli. They put on an unbeaten 93 in chasing down a small target in the second match in Centurion and added 140 in the third match in Cape Town.
