These Dhoni, Kohli photos show what camaraderie is all about
Jamaica: While Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble had their issues, the Indian skipper has always expressed his love and admiration for the other big man in Indian cricket – MS Dhoni.
After Dhoni, who had led India to three big triumphs – ICC World Twenty20 in 2007, ICC World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013 – stepped down from limited overs-captaincy earlier this year, Kohli had poured his heart out, saying Dhoni will always be his captain.
Dhoni, to his credit, has always spoken highly of Kohli, who has been one of India’s best batsmen across formats in last couple of years.
The rapport Dhoni and Kohli share once again came to forefront as Kohli stood firmly behind his predecessor after questions were raised over Dhoni's form following India's ODI series win in West Indies.
"He is striking the ball beautifully, you don't need to tell him anything in terms of how to play a situation, how to build an innings," said Kohli.
The on-field camaraderie continue off-field as well as the entire Indian cricket team celebrated Dhoni’s birthday in West Indies on Friday.
Kohli took a couple of selfies with Dhoni, with cake all over his face.
