For seven years, Kishan Reddy has led a 24 hour countdown to International Yoga Day with large gatherings: Reports

HYDERABAD: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, who has been leading International Yoga Day celebrations in the state with grand events, urged citizens to reaffirm their commitment to embracing India’s timeless gift to humanity in daily life and to carry forward yoga’s message of wellness, peace and harmony.

Speaking at the International Yoga Day programme at Ramakrishna Mission School in Chennai on Sunday, Kishan Reddy said yoga nurtured physical health, mental well‑being and spiritual balance. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, yoga has grown into a global wellness movement, transcending boundaries and uniting people worldwide.

For seven years, Kishan Reddy has led a 24‑hour countdown to International Yoga Day with large gatherings. On Saturday, he hosted the event at Parade Ground in Secunderabad, drawing around 20,000 school students and yoga enthusiasts. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, former vice‑president M. Venkaiah Naidu and several dignitaries, including film personalities, MPs, MLAs and yoga association members, took part.

Kishan Reddy has consistently executed programmes entrusted by the Prime Minister, including the recent “Fit India” Sports Festival, which drew 30,000 youth from educational institutions, clubs and private organisations in Telangana. Kishan Reddy has conducted this festival for the past two years, earning praise for its scale.

Following the Centre’s announcement designating September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day, Kishan Reddy has hosted annual events at the Parade Ground featuring cultural shows, paramilitary and military parades, and a photo exhibition on Hyderabad’s 1948 liberation. The programme includes tributes to martyrs, flag hoisting and performances by artists, celebrating national integration. He also conducts the annual “Healthy Baby Show,” distributing free health kits to thousands of children.
