Industrial Sector’s Cooperation Sought For Yoga Day Success

VISAKHAPATNAM: State home minister Vangalapudi Anita and district in-charge minister Dola Sribala Veeranjaneya Swamy urged industrialists to extend their support, stressing the industrial sector's involvement was essential for the success of the upcoming International Yoga Day celebrations to be held in Visakhapatnam. The appeal was made during a special meeting held in Vizag following a coordination committee meeting at the collectorate on Saturday.
Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad highlighted the importance of industrialists in promoting yoga training for their employees and ensuring their participation in the main event scheduled for June 21. He proposed a month-long yoga programme within workplaces and requested feedback on employee engagement within two days.
The ministers reiterated that collaboration from the industrial community would not only enhance the celebrations but also promote employee well-being. They encouraged their voluntary participation, urging businesses to regard this as their initiative. Responding to inquiries, the ministers clarified that family members of employees are also welcome to participate, as attendees will be presented certificates, yoga mats and T-shirts.
MLC Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao, MLAs and officials attended the meeting, underscoring the administration’s commitment to fostering a widespread yoga culture.
