EC on Bengal campaign: The Election Commission on Wednesday ordered campaigning in nine West Bengal constituencies to end at 10 PM on Thursday night, a day before its scheduled deadline, in the wake of violence between BJP and TMC workers in Kolkata.
Mamata's protest march: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a 7 kilometre-long march in North Kolkata to protest against Amit Shah's roadshow which turned violent as clashes erupt between the workers of the BJP and the TMC.
Modi campaigns in Bengal: PM Modi has hit out at Mamata Banerjee and called her "power drunk" and accused her of "throttling democracy". He said “didi was afraid at the rise of BJP in Bengal”.
Priyanka's Varanasi roadshow: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi held a mega roadshow in PM Modi's constituency Varanasi. She began her march by garlanding the statue of Late Madan Mohan Malviya at the gate of the Banaras Hindu University.
Yogi Adityanath in Kolkata: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused the Trinamool Congress for breaking the bust of social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. He addressed a press conference in Kolkata.
TMC's video proof: The Trinamool Congress released a video to claim that "BJP goons" damaged the statue of social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar during violence in Kolkata. They would submit this video to the Election Commission.
Amit Shah's bare escape: Shah has hit out at the Trinamool Congress accusing the party for the violence during his roadshow. Speaking on violence during roadshow, Shah added that had CRPF not been there, it would have been difficult for him to escape.
Mamata meme: Addressing a press conference, BJP youth wing convenor Priyanka Sharma who was released on Wednesday said, “My bail was granted yesterday (Tuesday), but still wasn't released for another 18 hours. They didn't allow me to meet my advocate and family.”
She said she would fight this case and would not apologise.
