Akan to Host Aahvaanam 2025 on Independence Day for Thalassemia Awareness
Hyderabad event to blend art, culture, and fundraising in support of Blood Warriors Foundation
Hyderabad: Akan, in collaboration with the Hyderabad-based Blood Warriors Foundation, will host “Akan Aahvaanam 2025” on August 15 to raise awareness and support for the mission of eradicating Thalassemia in India.
The event, scheduled from 12 pm to 4 pm at Akan, Hyderabad, aims to bring together corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, influencers and changemakers. Organisers said the gathering will combine art, entertainment, and awareness activities to encourage contributions and deepen understanding of the genetic blood disorder.
Guests will be served a traditional meal prepared from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, celebrating regional flavours and seasonal produce. Offered on a “Pay as You Like” basis, proceeds will go entirely to the Blood Warriors Foundation’s initiatives for awareness, prevention and patient support.
The afternoon will feature interactive activity zones, live music, creative workshops including tote bag and canvas painting, a pledge wall, an awareness walk, and inspiring stories from Thalassemia survivors. A “Know Your Risk” awareness corner and dedicated fundraising points will also be set up.
Akan said the event is “a heartfelt call to action” and encouraged Hyderabad residents to mark Independence Day by contributing to a life-saving cause.
The event will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Akan, Hyderabad, in support of the Blood Warriors Foundation’s mission to eradicate Thalassemia in India.
