Kabir Singh box office collection day 5: Shahid Kapoor’s film enters Rs 100 cr club

The film has achieved \'blockbuster\' status as it has been on a record-breaking spree ever since the release on June 21.

Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh is wreaking a havoc at the box office. Despite negative reviews from the critics, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial film has crossed the Rs 100-crore mark.

The film successfully crossed the Rs 70-crore mark in its opening weekend, and now the film has entered the Rs 100-crore club within five days of its release.

Kabir Singh, a Hindi remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy, passed the Monday test with flying colours after a fantastic opening weekend, has now crossed the Rs 100-crore mark. Shahid and Kiara's film earned Rs 16.53 crore on Tuesday, thus taking the total collection to Rs 104.90 crore.

Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the latest numbers as he wrote, "#KabirSingh cruises past ₹ 💯 cr... Shahid Kapoor scores his first *solo* century... Extraordinary trending on weekdays... Eyes ₹ 130 cr+ total in Week 1... Fri 20.21 cr, Sat 22.71 cr, Sun 27.91 cr, Mon 17.54 cr, Tue 16.53 cr. Total: ₹ 104.90 cr. India biz. BLOCKBUSTER."

The Shahid Kapoor film has achieved a 'blockbuster' status as it has been on a record-breaking spree ever since the release on June 21. Kabir Singh has also surpassed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat to become Shahid's biggest-ever opener.

Shahid and Kiara are elated after the super success of their film. Shahid recently took to Instagram to share a happy picture with Kiara and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga to celebrate the opening weekend collection.

Kabir Singh is gradually eyeing a Rs 200 crore haul, and may also challenge box office numbers of Vicky Kaushal-starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike, which is the highest grossing film of 2019 till now.

Kabir Singh will face competition from Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer social thriller Article 15. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film is set to release on June 28.
