Bharat star Salman Khan remembers his co-star Laxmikant Berde; find out what he said

Mumbai: Apart from Govinda-Kader Khan and Shah Rukh Khan-Johnny Lever, the Jodi that always used to rule the 90s was Salman Khan and Laxmikant Berde's Jodi. Yes, the duo has given superhits like Maine Pyaar Kiya (1989), Saajan (1991), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) and so on. However, the Marathi superstar's death in 2004 indeed shocked the entire film industry including the 'Bharat' actor.

Recently, in a singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, Salman Khan got emotional and remembered his old friend and co-star Laxmikant Berde aka Lakshya after hearing their song from Saajan, 'Tumse Milne Ki Tamanna Hai' which was sung by contestant Ritik Gupta.

An emotional Salman said, "This song has a lot of beautiful memories attached to it. This song is from our movie Saajan, which was a big hit. This was my introduction song in the movie along with my very close friend Laxmikant Berde. I have done a lot of movies with him and I think he was one of the biggest reasons behind the success of Maine Pyar Kiya. This song always reminds me of him. Unfortunately, he is not with us anymore."

On the work front, Salman will next be seen opposite Katrina Kaif in Bharat. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and it also stars Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Tabu, Jackie Shroff and others. Bharat is set to release on June 5, 2019, on the occasion of Eid.
