Here's what John Abraham has to say about Tanmay Bhat's controversy

Tanmay Bhat's video of a mock conversation between Lata and Sachin has provoked a howl of protests.

Mumbai: Amid controversy around the video spoof of melody queen Lata Mangeshkar and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar by comedian Tanmay Bhat, John Abraham said everybody on social media has become "brave" because of faceless identity.

When asked about what he thought of the video at the trailer launch of 'Dishoom', John evaded a direct reply but spoke about the situation on social media in general. He said, "I don't think anybody has any boundaries today on social media. Very honestly, I think there is nothing like honesty on the net in any case. All you guys have become so brave on the net because no one has a face today. It's fantastic to combat faceless people on the net. Congratulations to all those on the social media.

Recently, Sonam Kapoor came out in Tanmay's support and said that the video has been misinterpreted and the group does nothing to "offend" people. She took to her social media handle and wrote, "Being living legends I know @sachin_rt and @mangeshkarlata don't even know and care about what's going on!stop spewing hate on their behalf!"

Tanmay Bhat's video of a mock conversation between legends Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar has provoked a howl of protests. While several political parties have demanded action against the comedian, the Mumbai police has contacted Google and YouTube for blocking the video.
