At least 101 people are missing and 78 are injured after a submarine attack on an Iranian ship off Sri Lanka's coast, according to the Sri Lanka Navy and defence ministry sources.

Pentagon identifies four US troops killed in Iran war
The Pentagon on Tuesday identified four of six US troops killed in the Iran war after they were struck in a drone attack in Kuwait.
The Department of Defense said in a statement that the four service members were killed during an "unmanned aircraft system attack" in Kuwait's Shuaiba port on Sunday.

France says planning G7 finance meeting on Mideast
France is planning a meeting of G7 finance ministers on the Middle East crisis, with central bankers also in attendance, the country's Economy and Finance Minister, Roland Lescure, said on Wednesday.
"I have spoken with various counterparts, in particular Scott Bessent, who is the US Treasury Secretary. And we agreed to hold a meeting which will place at the beginning of next week," he told Franceinfo radio.

Iran's state media has reported that Iranians will Iranians will bid farewell to late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a ceremony later tonight at Tehran's Imam Khomeini prayer ground. The ceremony will last for three days and the funeral procession will be announced when it is finalized.
Airstrikes reported in Tehran, other Iranian cities
Airstrikes struck eastern Tehran later Wednesday morning, witnesses said. The Israeli military said it had begun “broad scale strikes” in Tehran. Airstrikes also were reported in the Iranian cities of Urmiah and Kermanshah.
Israel says it has shot down a piloted Iranian aircraft over Tehran
The Israeli military said one of its F-35 stealth fighter jets shot down a piloted Iranian Air Force YAK-130 fighter over Tehran on Wednesday. Israel described it as the first air-to-air combat kill of a piloted aircraft by the fighter jet.
