Beware of fraudulent forward messages on WhatsApp messenger

For a while now, a certain message with a provision regards to 'WhatsApp without Internet' has been making rounds. Beware, for they are fake!

These messages provide users with a link in order to enable the so-called Internet-free WhatsApp service, which in turn directs the user to a website called ‘WhatsAppNoData.com’.

This fake/unauthorised webpage asks you to add your contact number for further authentication. If a user falls for the trap, the same message along with ‘WhatsAppNoData.com’ link automatically gets sent further to 12 other users and three random groups in their WhatsApp contact list.

Surprisingly, feeding in random characters also sends a notification to its users stating that the account has been verified.

Screengrab Therefore, beware of this unauthorised webpage, as venturing into it will get not only you but also your contacts into an ocean of spam.
