Youth Will Protect Our Country, Just as Our Fathers Did
Sunny Deol talks of the power that comes with donning the Army uniform at the teaser launch of Border 2
After recent hits like Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is back with another patriotic film: Border 2. Making his first public appearance after the demise of his father, veteran actor Dharmender, Sunny attended the teaser release of the film directed by Anurag Singh and also featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty among others.
Sending a message of patriotism to the youth, Sunny said, “I consider the country my mother. Today’s youth feel the same responsibility to protect it, just as our fathers and grandfathers did.”
He added, “Whether we call it a new generation or give it a new name, the passion never changes. This land is our home. Whenever something threatens it, the blood naturally boils, and without thinking of who is standing beside us, we move forward to protect our Motherland.”
Talking about the emotions of wearing the Army uniform on screen, he said, “The moment you put it on, a current runs through you. You instantly feel like a soldier. We may not be trained soldiers, but what we feel inside is very similar. That emotion gives us the strength to portray a soldier honestly. The uniform provides 99% of the power; the remaining 1% comes from within.”
